Our next Immersion program starts in 2010. The Immersion is an in-depth training to learn the details of the poses taught in the Anusara system, and includes the Universal Principles of Alignment, Loops and Spirals, anatomy, pranayama and meditation, the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita, and the Tantric philosophy that underlies Anusara, and is open to all interested students and teachers.
The Immersion Program is also the first half of the Teacher Training Program, and 96 hours of the Immersions are required to participate in the second half of the GOH Anusara Yoga Teacher Training Program that begins in 2011.
The following material from the 2008 Immersion Program is here for information only. The dates, timing and subject matter of the 2010 Immersions will be finalized and posted this summer.

But the focus was
on studentship, and this is what made the Immersion program so special for me. It was an opportunity to explore, to soak in information, and to experience the joy of yoga asana, without any pressure to take notes, answer quizzes, or have to stand up in front of the class and teach."

While the format of an immersion weekend is similar to a weekend workshop, the content was in-depth
and we had the luxury of time to work with partners, ask questions, enjoy restorative poses, and really think about the meaning behind the yoga practice.
