Meditation can be an indispensable and calming practice for life. It is an easily learned skill that can provide a pathway to living with greater clarity, compassion, wisdom, and peace.
In essence meditation is learning to be conscious in the present moment. Major skills taught include recognizing our thoughts, mental habits and patterns; consciously choosing where to direct our attention; fully allowing “What Is”; navigating our emotions; embracing total self-acceptance, and connecting with our spiritual essence.
A variety of techniques are practiced so students can find ones with which they resonate. The classes also include breathing exercises, some philosophy, discussion of the obstacles encountered in meditation, and suggestions for developing a home practice. Meditation is both eminently practical and a portal to the Sacred.
