Preparations for each session include a video to watch or an article to read pertaining to the topic of the session. Plan on approximately one hour of preparation time (or slightly more) for each session.

Preparations for each session:

April 4, Session #1: Overview, Perspectives, and Intentions

Bring a journal or pad of paper to each session.
Read the Complaint Free Program (1 page handout).  Start observing your words and practicing:
no complaining, no criticizing, no gossiping!

 

April 11, Session #2: The Biology of Thoughts and Emotions

Watch the video by Gregg Braden: Every Emotion in Your Body Creates Biological Consequences (23 minutes)

In addition, contemplate these questions, which we’ll discuss on April 11
  1. Observe the words various people use: politicians, friends, family, in the news, etc.  What do you notice?  Complaining, blaming, criticizing, or do you see some who are describing events and not complaining about them?
  2. What is the highest perspective you can hold for the transformation we’re going through on the planet?
  3. What is the highest perspective you can hold for yourself individually for what you’re going through in your life right now?

April 18, Session #3: Practice self-care regularly!

We practiced Havening Techniques in our April 11 session: “a radical new and evolving form of scientific therapy that helps permanently treat and heal traumas, anxiety and phobias as well as to create positive alterations in our brain”. For more information, read the first several pages in the above booklet on Havening Techniques.
Havening involves gentle self-touch while saying Affirmations.

Experiment with repeating several affirmations that resonate with you while doing the Havening movements: gently stroking from your shoulders to your elbows, “washing your hands” movement, or stroking your face, from your forehead over your cheeks to your chin. Experiment with this practice 5-10 minutes several times over the next week.  Notice how you feel physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

Contemplation Questions:

 1.  Continue to notice the words you speak. What are your successes with your words?

2. Describe how you felt after doing Havening for 5-10 minutes: physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

April 25, SKIP this week

 

May 2, Session #4: Our Humanity & Our Divinity

In this session we shift from focusing on becoming Complaint-free to now using Complaint-free language to discuss world events. So, no complaining, no criticizing, and no gossiping! Instead we will describe the event, using neutral words, allowing us to stay calm, rather than judging or labeling it, and becoming outraged/upset. It is helpful to practice articulating your responses out loud to get greater clarity on your use of words.

Ask yourself also, is this opinion or fact? How do you know which it is?

Discussion Questions:

  1. Notice the words various people in the media use. Bring in an example or two of someone reporting on a current issue and using (mostly) neutral language, just describing it.  Note when they use judgmental words.
  2. How do you decide what is opinion and what is fact?
  3. Gregg is on the leading edge of the transformation we’re going through … Much of this information may be new. Notice his language. Notice your language: what you say to yourself, what words you use, as you respond to his perspectives and the new information he presents.
